🌸 Christine’s Reflection

A Season of Faith, Healing, and Remembering

From Christine Marzullo, Founder of Together at Peace

Over the years, I’ve had the blessing of walking alongside Chaplains and spiritual leaders of all backgrounds—each one offering comfort, presence, and peace to people navigating the hardest moments of their lives. It has been an honor to serve individuals and families of all faiths through Together at Peace, and I’ve seen time and again how faith—whatever form it takes—can be a powerful companion in grief.

For me personally, my faith has been a steady anchor. It doesn’t erase the pain of loss, but it reminds me that I’m not alone in it. In the quiet spaces of prayer, reflection, and surrender, I’ve found strength I didn’t know I had.

This month, that truth feels especially close.

April 19th marks 21 years since my dad passed away. Though I carry his memory with me every day, this anniversary offers a meaningful pause—a chance to breathe, to reflect, and to honor the love that helps shape who I am. My dad, whom we lovingly call Papa, found so much joy in Lake Geneva. He loved walking the lake path, taking early morning boat rides with his coffee and paper, sitting on the dock to watch the sunset, and hosting friends. These moments were his way of savoring life, and they bring my mom and our family so much comfort as we remember him. My dad found peace in this place—and so do we.

This year, our whole family will be gathering in Lake Geneva to walk a memory mile on the lake path in his honor. Along the way, we’ll be leaving Together at Peace “Hope Stones”—small, heart shaped reminders meant to comfort someone else on their own journey through grief. Each stone found is an invitation to connect with Together at Peace, in hopes of creating a ripple of remembrance and healing for others who have lost someone they love.

We’ll walk with Papa in our hearts—every step a celebration of his life, every stone a reminder that none of us are alone in our grief.

The very next day, we’ll celebrate Easter—a day filled with the promise of renewal, the beauty of resurrection, and the enduring power of love that lives on. That tender intersection—between grief and hope—is where Together at Peace was born. And it’s where I continue to find the courage to walk alongside others in their own healing journeys.

As you move through this season, I hope you feel moments of peace. I hope you feel connected—to your loved ones, to your story, and to something greater than the pain. Whether you find comfort in scripture, in prayer, in a walk outside, or simply in the presence of someone who understands—know that you are not alone.

With love and faith,
Christine
